Privacy Policy

Last updated June 15, 2026

This policy explains what information faircompanies.build collects, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. It works alongside our Terms of Service.

1. Information we collect

  • Account information — your email, optional name, and password (stored hashed), or details from an OAuth provider if you sign in with one.
  • Project content — the addresses, parcels, files, and other inputs you add to your projects, and the documents and renders the Service generates from them.
  • Usage and device data — basic logs and product analytics (pages, actions, approximate location from IP, device/browser) to operate and improve the Service.
  • Payment information — handled by our payment processor. We receive subscription and transaction metadata; we do not store full card numbers.

2. How we use your information

  • to provide, maintain, and secure the Service and your account;
  • to process payments and manage plans and credits;
  • to improve the Service — including using de-identified signals from interactions (with project identifiers removed) to improve our models;
  • to communicate with you about the Service, and (where permitted) updates;
  • to comply with law and enforce our Terms.

3. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

  • Service providers who help us run the Service — for example automated inference (a third-party model API and our own self-hosted models on cloud GPUs), payment processing, cloud storage, email delivery, and product analytics and error monitoring — under agreements that limit their use of the data;
  • Authorities or others when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a corporate transaction;
  • People you choose — e.g. when you make a project public or share a link (chat content is never exposed on public project pages).

4. Public data sources

To analyze a parcel, the Service queries public records (such as census geocoding, county and state GIS, and hazard layers). That information concerns the land, not you, and its accuracy is outside our control — always verify it independently.

5. Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication and for privacy-respecting product analytics (including sampled session replay, with sensitive document content scrubbed before it leaves your browser). You can control cookies through your browser settings.

6. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. You can ask us to delete your account and associated content.

7. Security

We protect your data with measures including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and malware scanning of uploads. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to safeguard your information.

8. Your choices and rights

You can access and update your account information, and you may request a copy or deletion of your personal data by emailing us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable law.

9. International users

faircompanies.build is operated from, and currently serves, the United States. If you access it from elsewhere, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for local law.

10. Children

The Service is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time; we will revise the “Last updated” date and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to notify you.
